a guide to the most common display systems

Represented are the major display systems for this industry. Each have their individual benefits to you. Please call 888.959.7774 if you have questions about these systems.

SPIDER  •  MagnaPop
ARISE I  •
ARISE  II

This system has a one piece frame that "pops up" to become the wall. Vertical bars with magnetic are attached to the frame. Fabric or photo panels are hung and stay in place with magnets. Pop-ups are very popular with women because there is no lifting and the graceful curves are very esthetic. It is also the best system for displaying large photo murals. The fabric panels can be replaced with a photo so there are no individual items to Velcro to the booth, speeding the setup.

These frames are strong
and trouble free.

Interior and exterior shelves are available. Something to remember when comparing pop-ups, the fewer parts in the hub, the more trouble free the frame. LiteStream's system has a one piece hub with aluminum bars that bolt to the hubs. This makes them easily repairable if damaged in shipping with just a phillips screwdriver.

The back sides of pop-ups an also be covered with fabric for island booths.

Have you ever gone to a show and seen popup displays with the endcaps off? These are usually systems that have a frame only 8" deep. This sharp curve makes the magnets on the endcaps to weak to hold. Most displays can't be moved after you have everything setup. If you drag it a couple feet to set into place you end up re-aligning the panels and graphics. This always frustrated me! With our pop-ups this won't happen.

Always check any popup and its ability to replace the struts ( X frame bars) in the field. A lot of the systems can not be attached to the hubs without a lot of trouble. No matter how strong the frame bars are, there are always accidents that cause them to break loose from the hubs and require fixing.

Popup display system

LiteStream offers pop-ups with
three other unique features.

We have popup displays that can

have a section taken out to change
from 10 to 8 foot wide.

Arise vs Spider:
I get asked all the time the difference between these brands. The Spider is an up-scale popup made to velcro items to. It also has exterior shelves to hold items from 5 to 10 lbs.
With its extra features like adjustable feet, no black showing at the top or bottom of the fabric panels, self-aligning magnetic panels, aluminum frame, upscale counter kit with interior shelf and storage, I feel the Spider is a premium display that will hold its own in class and dependability with any popup in the industry.

The Arise is in a league by itself. It is made to hold heavy items with external and internal shelves. I've placed 2- 75 lb. monitors on this frame for Nordstrom's without any problems. Its a great basic workhorse but doesn't have the refined features of the Spider. It also has self-aligning magnetic panels. The Arise also has a slightly larger shipping case.

Questions to ask
when buying a pop up display:

Can it be repaired at the show or in my office with a simple tool like a screwdriver? Some say their systems can be repaired in the field. They don't tell you you need to drill and replace the pop rivet or some equally hard thing. Many of the new, low cost displays can't be easily fixed and accidents happen no mater how great the frame.
Does any part of the shipping case show when the podium kit is assembled? Many podium kits show a part of the shipping case. This gets dirty and scratched during shipping and will soon look poor.

FOLDING PANEL

CLASSIC FP
EASYWALL tabletops
TABLELITE tabletops
FASTPACK

This is the oldest type of display system. Each horizontal section is one piece connected by hinges. These stack and align with pins which fit into the lower section. Most women prefer the pop-ups because there is no lifting involved.
An advantage these have over pop-ups is that the back side is finished. They can also be setup into many configurations. These systems allow you to use the top and bottom sections as tabletops. The folding panels can have plastic slatwall or vertical slats to hold shelves for products. These are recessed flush with the fabric.

Folding panel system
Questions to ask when
buying a folding panel display:

Does it have an aluminum frame under the fabric? Some panel systems are made of 2 sheets of corrugated board glued together and fabric added. These can be dented easily.
What is the hinge material? Companies will tell you there is a wooden or metal dowel in the hinge. This is only a spacer. The fabric is the hinge on systems like Featherlite and Radius. We offer folding panel systems with plastic, fabric and metal hinges. I personally don't like the fabric hinges because the fabric stretches after a year or two. The panels then become hard to align the pins when stacking the top section. The Classic panel system has metal hinges.

MODULAR PANEL

modular system.

PANELFLO

Modular systems have always been for the larger corporate booths. Smoother seams, and simple, one panel at a time setup make it easy to construct tall towers and custom shapes. Acrylic windows, a much more durable fabric, smoother seams between panels, and the option of plastic laminates that look like stone, marble, and wood create a very refined exhibit.

The panels can have plastic slatwall or vertical slats to hold shelves for products. These are recessed flush with the fabric. Monitor holes can easily be cut into the panels.

Backlit photos are no problem! We can build backlit photos that cover the area of two panels.

Panel sizes can vary in size (unlike the folding systems) and plastic laments can even be applied to curves.
Hinged panel connectors are available creating more flexibility like the folding panel systems.
And... this is a very high quality system!

Dye Sub Tension Fabric

ENTASI
FABRIC POPUP

This system of full color printing on fabric and stretching it onto a frame has been around for many years. It is usually seen as unusual shaped signs hanging from the ceilings. Within the last few years it has gained popularity as a complete display system within itself. It allows for more modern shapes and is usually less weight.

The entasi display dye sub tension fabric system
Entasi: The latest esthetic rage on the market is the Entasi which has a printed PILLOW fabric zipped over an aluminum frame.

Fabric Popup: This system was first used as a complete display by applying it to a popup frame. Though the image is not as high a resolution as a inkjet or lambda print it is much lighter and quicker to setup as the fabric stays attached to the frame when packing.
Entasi large format tension fabric display system
The Entasi works well with flat panel monitors and laptops. It also uses high quality lambda prints on the small front frames called standoff frames.

VISIONS DESIGNS

To get cutting edge custom design a hybrid construction combines modern aluminum extrusion profiles with large format tension fabric graphics, a modular system and elegant laminates for an unmistakable high-design appearance. If you want to standout with a unique look this will do it and the price reflects it. Basically they use a combination of many standard systems parts described above.

Anytime you do anything one-at-a-time without the aid of templates the labor and costs go up. The larger corporations have always used custom designs to show off their wares. A new trend has started. The cost of floor space is an ongoing expense. The cost of a display is a one-time expense. Companies are now putting more money into the display and using a smaller floor space. The popularity of these Vision Designs is a good indication of this.

Simple, fast setup.
These 10 foot booths have been engineered to be set up within 15 minutes with-out any tools. They disassemble and pack just as quickly. Almost all 10x 20 foot booths break down into two 10 foot booths.
Light weight.
They are built of the lightest materials to keep the shipping costs down. All come in wheeled shipping cases that are built to a size that is UPS shippable or can be carried on airlines as luggage. Weight ranges from 45 to 90 lbs. per case depending on the design and what accessories are included.
Sell services and products.
These displays are proven over and over again to increase sales. The shapes, the colors, and the sizes WORK! I've been told of incredible success stories at shows that my clients attributed directly to the new image presented by the new booth.
Good fabrics.
Most of the major manufactures use the same fabrics and most of the same colors. They work! This also allows you to buy a booth from one manufacturer and a counter from another and have a coordinated image. The fabrics have improved over the years. They are more durable to increase the life of the displays, improved colors to match the trends.

The Common Fabrics: Click on the name to view the colors.

FRONTRUNNER: This is the most popular in the industry because it has been around the longest. It was the first "quality" fabric for use with velcro. It has a thin, carpet-like texture. Since most damage to displays is caused by improper packing by people who want to leave a long show quickly, the thicker fabrics show less imprints if the panels are not protected properly. The longer nape fabrics also show less of a seam between the panels. People prefer a smooth transition between panels.
PRELUDE: A very smooth fabric almost the texture of felt. It is made by the same manufacture as Frontrunner. Many of the colors match allowing nice texture differences.
PREMIER: This is a new, "high end" fabric made by the same manufacturer as Showtime. It has a slightly, smoother finish than Frontrunner so it has less of a "carpet" look, but the nape is just as thick. Its colors match the Frontrunner colors.
SHOWTIME:
This fabric is being discontinued and replaced by its manufacturer by Premier.

Display manufactures stock different fabrics as a standard. If  you choose a different fabric than what they stock, there is usually an up charge and probably a few days delay in the building of your display.

These displays will give your company
the presentation it needs for profitable sales results.
